New Goals

Having experienced another ankle dislocation on 29 December 2010, I'm still into the rehabbing process.

That means back to square one with the physical therapy exercises. Obviously no walking - which I had built up to 60 minutes per day most days.

Thankfully, I have wheelchairs, a walker, crutches, cane, braces, splints, and all the physical therapy notes. After being checked out by my favorite local podiatrist I've been cleared, after three weeks now. To do the balance exercises for 30 minutes per day to start and build up to three sessions per day of 30 minutes each over the next three weeks. If all goes well, I should be able to start walking 15 minutes per day after that and build up gradually.

RICE rules. Though I have added back in the warm soaks in epsom salt baths and lots of massage.

This too shall pass.

With the help of my wheelchair, walking the dog and enjoying the neighborhood park's sights and sounds continues to give me great joy.

Still looking for that full night of restful sleep that so many of us EDSers find to be elusive.
